Josh Kerr claims $150,000 prize for 1500m victory at World Athletics Ultimate Championship

• Scot dominates, finishing ahead of Nuguse and Myers

• Henrich’s anchor leg secures silver for Britain in mixed relay

Throughout Josh Kerr’s flawless campaign, he has turned the extraordinary into the ordinary. Thus, when the bell signaled the last circuit of the men’s Ultimate 1500m final, with the Scottish athlete positioned third and gaining on frontrunner Yared Nuguse, the subsequent 53 seconds seemed inevitable.

And so it was. First, Kerr effortlessly moved past Robert Farken into second place. Then, with 250 meters to go, he glided by Nuguse. The 20-year-old Australian sensation Cam Myers mounted a spirited pursuit, but Kerr calmly maintained a three-meter advantage until crossing the line.
